Freelancers and small businesses need to send invoices constantly, but not every job justifies paying for dedicated invoicing software just to produce a simple PDF. This tool covers that gap — enter your details, the client's details, a list of items with quantities and rates, and an optional tax rate, and it generates a clean, professional PDF invoice ready to send.

Every field updates the running total live as you type, so the subtotal, tax amount, and final total are always visible before you generate the PDF. Line items can be added or removed freely, making it equally suited to a single-item invoice or one with a dozen billed items.

The PDF is built entirely in your browser and downloads directly to your device — no account, no template gallery to navigate, and no data about your business or client sent to a server.

Tips for best results

  • Keep item descriptions concise — very long descriptions wrap onto multiple lines in the PDF, which is fine but takes up more space per row.
  • Use the Notes field for payment terms, bank transfer details, or a short thank-you message — it appears at the bottom of the generated PDF.
  • Double-check quantities and rates before downloading, since the PDF is generated fresh each time — there's no saved draft to edit afterward.

Frequently asked questions

Is my business or client data saved anywhere?

No — everything is generated locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to a server or stored once you close the page.

Can I add more than a couple of line items?

Yes — click 'Add item' as many times as needed; the invoice layout adjusts automatically.

Does this calculate tax automatically?

Yes — enter a tax percentage and it's applied to the subtotal to calculate the tax amount and final total.

Can I edit the invoice after downloading the PDF?

Not within the PDF itself — make any changes in the form and re-download to generate an updated version.

Is there a limit to how many invoices I can create?

No — there's no account or usage limit. Generate as many invoices as you need.
